windows guy? recommend you uninstall all versions of Java, restart your computer, and then re-install it from this link (this is a build of OpenJRE from Eclipse) just to make sure that there's no lingering files hanging around that could mess you up. If that doesn't work, please let me know.

Sounds like it could be cache related on your end. Maybe the launcher didn't grab the cache correctly while you updated with the launcher this morning. Gitlab was going under maintenance iirc.
