While I understand this suggestion may seem controversial to a small extent, I'd like to, regardless, suggest that xp rates of players, be it optional or otherwise, be shown in public chats.
The rationale is to acknowledge the commitment of players who are playing at a lower xp rate. For the record, I myself do not play in this server using lower xp rates and has no plans to do so, my time maxing in OSRS and a few other private servers has pretty much left me drained to pull another one (eg. 1x) off in this server, respectfully speaking and with no offence intended. Therefore, I do not and will not benefit from this proposal, but others who walk the hard path in this server would, in a small way. I've come across totally normal looking players who doesn't seem like much, but when I take the effort to actually search that person up, that account is actually of lower xp rate (eg. 1x) and are high in levels in general. When he/she speaks in public, there's not even a sign that he's 1x at all, until I have to actually dig up their hiscore info at my own curiosity. I feel these players deserve a bit of recognition in their own regards.
Example of my proposal:
In public chat:
Einz (5x): Hey ABC. How's things bro?
ABC (1x): Hey man. Doing great!
That is all. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Re: (Suggestion) Xp Rate in Chat
How would the information about XP rate get to the client?
- If the answer is modifying the appearance packet, then absolutely not.
How would that be displayed by the client?
- If the answer is new sprites in the cache, who would make them? Who would pack them? Who would decide them? How does this info get to the client?
Would this be hardcoded into the client or an optional plugin?

could it be a plugin that fetches the data from hiscores api? (after hiscores rework)Ceikry wrote: ↑Thu Nov 03, 2022 12:36 pm How would the information about XP rate get to the client?

maybe it could be text instead of sprites
instead of in chat, it could even just draw it above their heads

That would be pretty slow (even with caching), but yes.ryannathans wrote: ↑Thu Nov 03, 2022 12:47 pmcould it be a plugin that fetches the data from hiscores api? (after hiscores rework)Ceikry wrote: ↑Thu Nov 03, 2022 12:36 pm How would the information about XP rate get to the client?

I don't think it would accomplish exactly what this user envisioned however, and the extra characters in usernames would mess up chat even worse (it already can't fit the number of chars you can type)
