Stuck at Connecting to update server (Stable server)

When I try to connect to the Stable server I’m getting stuck at the first loading bar saying:

RuneScape is loading – please wait…
[Connecting to update server]

Last week I didn’t have this problem. When I select “Testing server” under the server profile setting I manage to get to the login screen without issue. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

It happens with both Launcher Version 1.6.1 and 1.5.1 on Windows.

I’ve been really enjoying the game, so much that I finally ended up making an account on the forums to ask for help after not being able to get in for a couple of days : ).

There’s a hurricane that hit the datacenter that hosts 2009scape. They seem to be having a few issues in the aftermath. Hopefully it won’t be too long till it’s back and stable.
