(Single player) launcher issue

Every time I try to run the launcher a it says it cannot find java.exe . And says to make sure I typed it in right. I have tried re-downloading and extracting the file. But this doesn't seem to change anything. Am I missing something obvious or do I need to do something complicated to fix this?

did you extract the archive before trying to run it, or are you running it from in the zip?

Which launcher? Saradomin or the one directly from 2009scape.org?
You need java to play RuneScape. RuneScape is a Java game.

I extracted the zip to my desktop and ran it from there. After that is gives the same error but it can't find my user account i.e. c:users/(account name)

I have Java installed it keeps saying "still waiting for server to start"

Do you have a space in the path to the folder?
Windows can't elegantly handle spaces in path names.

I think that might be it. How to I change the path, so I can get rid of the space. It doesn't ask for the path when I run the executable

You move the singleplayer files somewhere else that doesn't have a space in the path.

That fixed it. Thank you so much! Sorry for any hassle, I know i can be kinda dense.
