Clue Scroll Not Working

What did you do?
Dug for clue scroll,
12 degrees 28 minutes north
34 degrees 37 minutes east
(burthrope grape vine area, north of the east side of the picnic table)

What happened?
Received nothing interesting happens message. ('You dig but find nothing.' is the usual message for digging in the wrong spot)
What did you expect to happen?
to receive ranger boots or something excellent from the casket of the treasure trail
Are there any relevant item/npc IDs? (use ::debug command in chat)
item=3497 , not sure if this is unique to this particular clue or not
