Quest Reward Problem (Witch's House)

As i did the quest and got the ball, i wanted to check before and after exp so i accidentally exited the conversation with the boy. in doing so i gave the ball but didnt get the reward(s)
When i talk to the boy after he asks me ''have you gotten my ball back''
Might need to be checked to see if other quests have this problem
