As one of the few active members with 99 range, and after hearing the opinions of several members of the community, I believe it is time for a revote on the range skillcape perk. I and a handful of others would love to change the current skillcape perk to an Ava's Accumulator equivalent.

After reading the first few responses, my opinion is my own only...

I have to vote that it stays the same to make it a valid upgrade; However, if it were/is possible to add ava's functionality and not replace the perk, that is the ideal and most fitting result.

I would rather it keep its current perk, but also work as an ava's. reason being that no one bothers using range cape in most scenarios because it's annoying to pick up ammunition, but if it were changed to just be an ava's it wouldn't be as good in comparison as the current attack, strength and defense capes. ava's as a perk in combination with the current perk doesn't make the current perk OP, but makes it less annoying to use overall.

If it is possible to add on ava's perk to the cape then I would rather that, otherwise if not possible I feel it should stay the same.

I concur - BIS accuracy at a cost of retrieving your own bolts is fair, BUT it's destroying convenience in favor of a raw stat bonus. Would it really be so wrong to lore in Ava upgrading our ranged capes, maybe in exchange for some miniquest? Surely no one will complain about the capped range cape being a direct upgrade to ava's devices.

This would make it strictly better than ava's, which is literally the exact explicit thing our policies on custom content are intended to prevent. No direct upgrades. No power creep. Nothing that obsoletes other items in the game.

Additionally, Ranged is the only stat-boosting cape that also gives you the advantage of safespotting. That alone should be considered a substantial amount of power. You'll notice the magic cape doesn't even give combat bonuses.

If you genuinely think this would be a good idea, OSRS is this way.
