Hello, I'm new here. I just discovered this project about 2 weeks ago and am in love with it! The only thing that I wish was possible was to play the classic (standard) graphics in widescreen, instead of the tiny window.
I've searched high and low for a few hours over the course of a few days...so I'm pretty sure I'm not missing it somewhere (but let me know if I'm blind).

You can set the UI scale to 2.0 - It's not fractional scaling, but it's something:
